Working for the Washington Redskins’ public relations department isn’t an enviable position.

Much of the job, you would think, centers around the ongoing controversy over the team’s nickname. So you have to deal with that. You also have to deal with all of the negativity surrounding a team that hasn’t won anything recently, thanks in large part to the ongoing injury issues with franchise quarterback Robert Griffin III.

So on one hand, you get why a Redskins PR person might be a little edgy. But on the other hand, maybe a win would take some of the pressure off someone in that situation. One ‘Skins PR staffer proved Monday night that winning doesn’t make everything better.

Third-string quarterback Colt McCoy led Washington to an overtime win over the Dallas Cowboys on “Monday Night Football.” After the game, McCoy was kept on the field for an interview with ESPN. Once that interview ended, ESPN Deportes attempted to grab McCoy for an interview.

The angry PR guy was having none of that.

Seems like a really fun person.

The most awkward part of the entire thing may be McCoy’s reaction. He seems more than happy to oblige — after all, he is a third-string quarterback — but angry PR guy would not stand for that.

UPDATE: Apparently, ESPN Deportes got that interview after all, according to SB Nation.
