Report: Patriots Fear Stevan Ridley Tore ACL; MRI Coming Monday

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Stevan Ridley appeared to suffer a severe knee injury on Sunday, and the New England Patriots are fearing for the worst.

The Patriots running back will go in for an MRI on Monday, but the team fears he tore his ACL in New England’s 37-22 win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, NFL Media’s Albert Breer reported. Ridley tried to hop off the field after injuring his knee in the third quarter, but the fourth-year running back went down on the turf and had to be helped off the field.

Ridley limped back and forth on the sideline before leaving for the locker room in the fourth quarter.

If Ridley is lost for the season, Brandon Bolden and Shane Vereen would see an uptick in carries. The team would likely sign Jonas Gray off the practice squad and could look to sign a veteran on the open market.

Ridley left Ralph Wilson Stadium with a brace on his knee while walking with a cane.
