Tom Brady Won’t Say Why Patriots’ Offense Improved In Last Two Games

FOXBORO, Mass. — New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady isn’t in the business of divulging company secrets.

Brady was asked a simple question Tuesday during his weekly news conference: “Tom, why has the offense been so much better the last two weeks?”

“Um, that’s a good question,” Brady answered. “I don’t know.”

The Patriots’ offense averaged just 298.5 total yards in their first four games, but Brady alone averaged 326.5 passing yards in the next two weeks against the Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills. The Patriots scored 80 points in their first four games, then had 80 in the next two contests.

Brady praised how clutch the Patriots’ offense was in the last two weeks, scoring when the team needed it most.

“Absolutely. I think we talked a lot last week, we always work on gotta-have-it situations,” Brady said. “The start of the game last week was gotta-have-it. They all seem to be gotta-have-it now. It’s definitely a sense of urgency. We gotta keep trying to make improvements, do a better job.”

The Patriots’ offense certainly has returned to dominance, even if Brady doesn’t want to reveal how or why.
