Nebraska Punter Kicks Ball Into Lineman; Iowa Scores Touchdown (Video)

If you wanted to watch some good post-Thanksgiving college football, then Nebraska’s matchup with Iowa was not the game for you.

Friday’s game in Iowa City saw the Hawkeyes cough up the ball three times before halftime, but it was the Cornhuskers who possibly had the most embarrassing play of the game.

With Nebraska down 17-7 in the third quarter, punter Sam Foltz failed miserably at his job. In a move that the Internet dubbed the “butt punt,” Foltz bobbled the snap and proceeded to kick the ball into his lineman’s back. Iowa retrieved the ball and promptly scored a touchdown.

Nebraska ended up pulling off the 37-34 comeback win in overtime, though, so Foltz’s teammates likely forgave him. Not to mention, he also laid out to force a fumble in the first quarter.
