Peter Laviolette is as tough as the guys he puts on the ice.
The Nashville Predators coach and Franklin, Mass., native took a puck to the face during the first period of Tuesday night’s game in Winnipeg after a pass went off the glove of Jets defenseman Jacob Trouba and into the bench.
The puck caught Laviolette above his right eye, and although he looked to be in obvious pain, he remained on the bench and sported a nasty looking cut for the remainder of the game that the Preds eventually dropped 3-1.
On the bright side, it could have been much worse, as Laviolette is probably thanking his lucky stars it wasn’t a Shea Weber slapshot that caught him in the face.
