1415124744_adrian petersonMinnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is expected to reach an agreement Tuesday in his child-abuse case and will serve no jail time, according to multiple reports.

Peterson is expected to plead no contest to one count of misdemeanor reckless assault — meaning he’ll avoid a felony child-abuse conviction — according to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, citing a source with knowledge of the situation. Florio also reported “the plea will not include reference to family violence or violence against a minor.”

If the plea is accepted by Judge Kelly Case, Peterson will be placed on probation, pay a $2,000 fine and perform 80 hours of community service, Florio reports.

The Vikings star, who has been on the commissioner’s exempt list since being indicted in mid-September, will appear Tuesday in a Montgomery County, Texas courthouse.

It is unclear what discipline the NFL will hand down to Peterson once an agreement is reached. The running back hasn’t played since Week 1.
