Rich Eisen’s 48-Foot Television Production Truck Stolen In Miami (Photo)

How do you lose a 48-foot tractor-trailer? Just ask Rich Eisen.

In the middle of the night Wednesday, someone stole the DirecTV and CBS Sports broadcaster’s production truck for “The Rich Eisen Show” — which is set to broadcast before Thursday night’s Miami Dolphins-Buffalo Bills game — from a hotel parking lot in Miami, per The Miami Herald.

A production company called NEP owns the truck, and this particular truck happens to be worth millions of dollars and is filled with state-of-the-art production equipment. It was stolen from the gated parking lot of a TownePlace Suites in Miami Lakes, close to SunLife Stadium.

A new truck is on the way to Eisen, but police are slightly puzzled as to how a 48-foot truck that weighs several tons goes missing.

“We have located trucks in the past on property in rural areas,” Miami-Dade Police Detective Roy Rutland told The Miami Herald. “That’s not to say we won’t find it somewhere in the city.”

NEP and “The Rich Eisen Show” released a statement Wednesday noting that truck’s toll pass was triggered at midnight and that they received signals from the GPS in Miami this morning. However, the show tweeted that the GPS since has been removed.

UPDATE (7:31 p.m.): This story has a happy ending. Rich Eisen tweeted Wednesday evening that his stolen truck has been found.

The Miami Herald reported that only the trailer was found, while the truck cabin was still missing. Nothing in the trailer appeared to be stolen or damaged, though.
