Alex Ovechkin’s Insane Goal Might Be Best Of NHL Season So Far (Video)

Alexander Ovechkin scored a ridiculous goal Saturday night. There’s no other way to put it.

Ovechkin’s goal-scoring rate isn’t necessarily as high as it’s been in recent years, but he found the back of the net Saturday in a pretty incredible fashion.

The Washington superstar took full advantage of a New Jersey Devils shot that missed the net. The puck went around the boards where Ovechkin pounced on it. He raced up the ice where it looked like two Devils were about to slow him down.

Not so fast.

Ovechkin weaved in between the players while putting the puck through his own legs. He went falling to the ice and then flipped a backhander up over the shoulder of Devils goalie Cory Schneider.

“I was just making a move. It was a good play,” Ovechkin told reporters, according to The Associated Press.

That’s just a bit of an understatement.
