Editor’s note: In the spirit of holiday movie-watching, we asked NESN.com readers to vote for their favorite sports film of all time. The debate was fierce, but the votes spoke for themselves. We’re down to the top three, with “Field of Dreams” finishing No. 3 among NESN.com readers’ No. 10 sports movies of all time.

Why it’s a top-10 sports movie: “Field of Dreams” features a star-studded cast and uses baseball to present themes of redemption and family in one of the best baseball movies ever made.
Biggest star: Kevin Costner stars in arguably the best of of his many sports roles. He plays Ray Kinsella, a farmer who sells his Iowa farm and builds a baseball field after a hearing a voice say, “If you build it, he will come.”
Marquee moment: The field sets the stage for a reunion between Ray and his father, and if you don’t start to tear up when Ray asks, “Hey Dad, you wanna have a catch?” then you have no soul.
Did you know? The “Field of Dreams” field is still intact in Iowa, and in 2014, Costner returned to play in a celebrity softball game marking the film’s 25th anniversary.
