Kevin Garnett: ‘When It Rains, It Pours’ On Struggling Brooklyn Nets
Andrei Kirilenko was traded to the 2-19 Philadelphia 76ers and somehow managed not to sound like the most depressed person involved in the situation.
That honor goes to Kevin Garnett, who unlike Kirilenko is staying with the Brooklyn Nets, for now. Told that a trade to send Kirlenko to Philly was completed, Garnett didn’t offer the most upbeat response.

Garnett’s gloomy demeanor is understandable. The Nets are 8-12 in his second season in Brooklyn, having lost three consecutive games. They are nowhere near the championship contenders many observers expected when they pulled off the blockbuster trade to bring over Garnett and Paul Pierce from the Boston Celtics two summers ago.
Pierce now is with the Washington Wizards, who have a much more positive outlook than the Nets, while 38-year-old Garnett is trudging through what could be a very disappointing 20th NBA season.
Hey, he’s not on the Sixers, though. That’s something, right?
