FOXBORO, Mass. — Brandon Browner avoided a fine for his hard hit on San Diego Chargers tight end Ladarius Green two weeks ago, but he wasn’t so lucky this time around.
The New England Patriots cornerback was fined $8,268 by the NFL for throwing Miami Dolphins receiver Brandon Gibson to the turf early in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s matchup, according to a league spokesperson. Browner was flagged for unnecessary roughness on the play.
Gibson was fined $11,025 for taunting Browner after the late hit. Gibson was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct, and the penalties offset.
