A single jersey now hangs from the rafters at the Honda Center.

The Anaheim Ducks retired Teemu Selanne’s No. 8 on Sunday in a lengthy and emotional ceremony prior to their game against the Winnipeg Jets. The team gave the Finnish Flash an 11-minute video tribute, featuring cameos from former teammates and coaches.

After the video, the Ducks invited the winger and his family onto the ice to watch them raise his jersey.

Selanne entered the league with the Jets in 1992. Winnipeg traded him to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim during the 1995-96 season, where he spent most of his career. The Ducks traded him in 2001, but he returned in 2005 for the final nine seasons of his 21-year career.

Selanne’s career ended last season after 1,451 games, 684 goals and 1,457 points. He helped the Ducks earn their — and his — lone Stanley Cup during the 2006-07 season.
