Predators Goalie Pekka Rinne To Miss All-Star Game, 3 To 5 Weeks With Injury

Nashville Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne has established himself as the leading candidate for the Vezina Trophy this season.

Unfortunately for the Predators, who are tied with the Anaheim Ducks for the NHL best record’s entering Thursday, Rinne will miss the next three to five weeks because of a sprained knee.

Rinne was one of the All-Star selections among goaltenders last week. Detroit Red Wings netminder Jimmy Howard also is injured and unable to play in Columbus, Ohio, on Jan. 25. The league announced their replacements Thursday.

Rinne leads all goalies (20-plus games played minimum) with 29 wins, a .931 save percentage and a 1.96 goals against average this season.
