The outdoor game schedule for the 2015-16 NHL season is becoming more clear.

TSN’s Bob McKenzie reported Wednesday that the Minnesota Wild and Colorado Avalanche will host outdoor games as part of next season’s Stadium Series.

McKenzie also reported that Minnesota’s likely opponent is the Chicago Blackhawks, who have appeared in two Winter Classic games and a Stadium Series matchup since 2009. These Central Division teams have played in each other in the last two Western Conference playoffs.

The expected opponent for the Colorado Avalanche is the Detroit Red Wings, which rekindles an intense rivalry that reached its peak during the 1990s and early 2000s when both teams were Stanley Cup contenders.

There are reports that the 2016 Winter Classic will be between the Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass. Neither the Bruins nor the NHL have confirmed or commented on the reports.

The only Stadium Series game scheduled for this season is a Pacific Division battle between the Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Feb. 21.
