Rob Gronkowski After Patriots’ Win: ‘If I Could Play 24/7, I Would Play 24/7’

FOXBORO, Mass. — Rob Gronkowski on a football field just might be the happiest man on Earth.

The New England Patriots tight end had plenty to smile about Sunday night after his team’s 45-7 domination of the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship Game at Gillette Stadium.

But if there was anything Gronk could gripe about — besides his family’s party bus getting the boot from the stadium’s VIP lot — it’s that Sunday’s game didn’t last all day. No, literally. All day.

“I love playing football,” Gronkowski said after the game. “For real, I’m not lying, if I could play 24/7, I would play 24/7. I don’t like when practice ends, I don’t like when the game ends, I don’t like coming out after the game like that.”

“I was talking with (Patriots fullback) James Develin (and) we both looked at each other like, ‘There’s no place we’d rather be than the football field.’ … It’s just unbelievable, this sport. It’s so much fun playing and being out there with your teammates … and having a blast out there.”

Rob Gronkowski is a very large football-playing machine, and the only thing that makes him unhappy is not playing football.

Fortunately for Gronk, the Patriots’ win gives him two more weeks to do what he loves as his team prepares to take on the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX on Feb. 1.

The big tight end took a back seat to LeGarrette Blount and the run game, finishing the night with just three catches for 28 yards, but still managed to snag a 5-yard touchdown pass from Tom Brady in the third quarter.

It was hard for Gronk to contain his happiness after the game, as he started an impromptu dance party around his teammates with some pretty hilarious moves.

OK, so maybe he loves more than just football.
