Sharks’ Tomas Hertl All Smiles Even After Taking Puck To Face (Photo)

The world would be a better place if everyone was always as happy as Tomas Hertl.

The San Jose Sharks center proved after Monday’s game against the Winnipeg Jets that the smile plastered on his face actually might be permanent. While sitting on the bench during the third period, the young star was struck in the face by teammate Logan Couture’s clearing attempt, forcing Hertl to leave the game early.

Hertl left the ice with a towel covering his face and retreated to the dressing room, where he received 16 to 18 stitches on his upper lip, but even that wasn’t enough to wipe the smile from his face. OK, he might not have been grinning immediately after taking a puck to the chops, but after his team’s 3-2 win, he was a happy Hertl — a happy and bloody Hertl.
