Heat Lose To Timberwolves After Worst Inbounds Play Ever (Video)

We’re going to take a wild guess and say this particular play won’t end up on the Hassan Whiteside highlight reel.

Whiteside’s Miami Heat trailed the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves by one in the final minute of Wednesday night’s game when Norris Cole inbounded the ball to the big man underneath the Heat basket.

Cole then opted for a do-over, telling Whiteside to step back over the baseline and pass the ball to him instead.

Umm, yeah. You can’t do that. The officials awarded possession to the Timberwolves with 39 seconds remaining.

The gaffe didn’t completely doom the Heat, though. They still had one more chance after Minnesota’s Kevin Martin missed a 3-pointer, but misses by both Mario Chalmers and Cole on the ensuing possession doomed Miami in a 102-101 loss.
