If you like your basketball to be of the above-the-rim variety, then Minnesota was the place to be Monday night.
Timberwolves rookie phenom Andrew Wiggins went toe-to-toe with Utah Jazz shot-blocker extraordinaire Rudy Gobert, and twice Wiggins got the better of the French big man.
Gobert would not be posterized a third time, however. He stopped Wiggins cold on the rookie’s next attempt, and he made sure the folks in Bristol, Conn., took notice.

This individual battle was far more entertaining than the game itself, as the Jazz coasted to a 104-84 win. Gobert was a force on both ends for Utah, finishing with 15 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks.
