A’s Switch-Pitcher Pat Venditte Effective From Both Sides Of Mound (Video)

Pat Venditte wasn’t able to crack the major league roster in his first stop, but his second try got off to a good start Tuesday.

Venditte, a “switch-pitcher” who is able to throw with both arms and changes in the middle of innings depending on the matchup, is in Oakland Athletics camp this season after seven seasons in the Yankees’ organization.

Venditte got as high as Triple-A with the Yankees and put up pretty solid numbers in 2014, with a 1.11 WHIP in split time at Double-A and Triple-A.

He made his spring debut Tuesday for the A’s against the San Francisco Giants and pitched well. He retired both batters he faced — one from each side — on a groundout and a strikeout looking.
