Pablo Sandoval and Hanley Ramirez haven’t been with the Boston Red Sox for very long, and well, it shows.
The pair squared off in the latest edition of “Know Your Teammates” trivia down in Fort Myers, where it became pretty clear that guessing isn’t either of their strong suits. The two started off rough, both failing to identify which teammate collects autographed bats, glove and shoes from opponents and also missing which player’s first job was waiting tables at a Mexican restaurant named “Crazy Joses.”
Things turned around, though, when they both confidently answered that Daniel Nava’s father was a trainer with the San Francisco 49ers in the 1980s. Ramirez pulled away with the victory at this point, as he was able to name which San Francisco Giants pitcher gave Sandoval his “Kung Fu Panda” nickname in 2008 — with some serious help from the guy sitting next to him, we might add.
Don’t worry: Ramirez promised to treat Sandoval to dinner for the extra assistance.
