For eight years, Patrick Willis’ work clothes have been a helmet, shoulder pads and football uniform. So forgive him if he has an unusual take on business attire.
In announcing his retirement Tuesday, however, the San Francisco 49ers linebacker — maybe intentionally, maybe not — chose a strange way to wear his necktie.
Let’s just say he really took the “neck” part literally.

Call us old-fashioned, but we’re pretty sure that’s not how a tie is supposed to go. Then again, maybe this is the new equivalent of lens-less glasses or mixing stripes with gingham — or better yet, men’s skinny jeans.
