BOSTON — New York Rangers forward Tanner Glass received a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct for butt-ending Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid after the final buzzer in Saturday afternoon’s game at TD Garden.
UPDATE: Glass was fined by the NHL for his actions.

Bruins head coach Claude Julien didn’t have an update on McQuaid postgame.
“I think he took a bit of a butt end there in the face, so I haven’t checked him out,” Julien said. “But again, those are things that, if need be, the league will look into it.”
Glass was on the receiving end of a hard hit along the end boards by Bruins defenseman Matt Bartkowski earlier in the third period. Rangers forward James Sheppard and Bartkowski dropped the gloves for a fight soon after the hit, which didn’t result in a penalty.
Glass finished the game with 15 penalty minutes and 14:00 of ice time.
The Bruins won 4-2 to move ahead of the Ottawa Senators for the second wild-card playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
