Blues’ Ryan Reaves Pulls Out Tooth On Bench, Continues Playing (Video)

Odontophobia, or fear of the dentist, is a common phobia. St. Louis Blues forward Ryan Reaves might be among those suffering.

After taking a crushing blow from Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook on Sunday, Reaves returned to his bench, fiddled around his mouth for a moment, and pulled out a tooth that had evidently been knocked loose.

Who needs to sit in an anxiety-inducing dental chair listening to bad jokes you can’t respond to when you can just reach in and make quick work of the problem yourself? Clearly Reaves, whose father is a former NFL player, is tough enough (or scared enough?) to do the dirty work himself.

Reaves jumped right back into play, never missing a shift. And to top it off, his Blues downed the Blackhawks, 2-1.
