Red Sox Opening Day Ceremonies Set For 2:30 P.M. Monday At Fenway Park

The wait finally is over, Boston Red Sox fans.

After kicking off the season on the road with series against the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees, the Red Sox will return to Fenway Park on Monday, April 13. Opening day festivities are scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. ET, and the Sox will play the Washington Nationals at 3:05 p.m.

The pregame ceremony will include the performance of the national anthem by a children’s choir, a fly-over of two F-16 fighter jets and the ceremonial first pitch.

Fenway Park gates will open at 1:05 p.m., 2 hours before the first pitch. For the rest of the regular season, gates will open 1 1/2 hours before the game, except for season ticket holders and Red Sox Nation members, who may enter at Gate C 2 1/2 hours before each game.

Children 14 and under can enter through the new Gate K (for kids), located near Gate B, which serves as a gateway to the new kids concourse. The new Wally’s Clubhouse will offer an area for kids to play in during the third through seventh innings. The Red Sox waived the fee into their children’s fan club this year, and more than 39,000 kids already have signed up to join Red Sox Kid Nation presented by Hood.

The Red Sox also will offer plenty of new menu options this year. Inside Gates C and E, nachos will be served in life-sized Red Sox helmets, roast beef and turkey panini sandwiches will be available in both the left and right field concourses, and Meatball Obsession will debut a new stand in the kids concourse.

The refurbished Budweiser Brew House in right field also will offer new options, including a bacon and apple salad, parmesan truffle fries, fish tacos and authentic lobster rolls.
