Report: Cowboys Out On Adrian Peterson; Cardinals Strongest Trade Contender

Adrian Peterson reportedly is staying put.

The Dallas Cowboys are out on a trade for the Minnesota Vikings running back, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported Monday. Rapoport said the “word out of Minnesota” is that Peterson will play for the Vikings or no one, despite the fact the 30-year-old reportedly wants out.

Still, Rapoport added that if anyone can convince Minnesota otherwise, it would be the Arizona Cardinals. The Cards are in the market for a running back, and if they can’t pick up a viable option at the position in Round 1 of the NFL draft Thursday, then they could use their second-round pick to try to land Peterson.

If Peterson still is with the Vikings on Friday, though, that’s reportedly likely where he’ll be playing in 2015.
