Report: Wes Welker Making Free-Agent Visit To Miami Dolphins

Wes Welker reportedly could move from one New England Patriots rival to another.

The Miami Dolphins are hosting Welker on a free-agent visit Wednesday, the Palm Beach Post’s Andrew Abramson reported.

Welker went undrafted out of Texas Tech in 2004 and was signed by the San Diego Chargers. He was cut shortly after training camp and scooped up by the Dolphins, for whom he played for three seasons, amassing 96 catches for 1,121 yards and one touchdown.

Welker was traded to the Patriots in 2007 for second- and fifth-round draft picks. He caught 672 passes for 7,459 yards and 37 touchdowns in six seasons with the Patriots before leaving for the Denver Broncos as a free agent in 2013.

Welker, who has dealt with concussions in each of the past two seasons, is entering his 12th year in the NFL.
