Rob Gronkowski Joked To President Obama That Secret Service Can’t Stop Him

Rob Gronkowski managed to keep his shirt on at the White House under strict orders of President Barack Obama.

Gronkowski received a special shoutout from Obama during the president’s brief prepared statement, welcoming the New England Patriots to the White House on Thursday.

“I told him to keep his shirt on,” Obama said. “He asked me what would happen if he took it off. I said ‘Secret Service probably wouldn’t like it.’ He said, ‘What would they do to me?'”

Quarterback Tom Brady, who wasn’t present, wide receiver Julian Edelman, cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and Malcolm Butler, linebacker Jamie Collins, running back Shane Vereen and defensive end Rob Ninkovich also received mentions from Obama.

Obama joked that Butler is “so small, you can’t even see him” in the crowd of Patriots players.
