The Twitter rumor mill was up to its old tricks again recently when MLS player Sean St Ledger was thought to be dating pop superstar Taylor Swift. St Ledger has played for various clubs across Europe, and in an attempt to continue a dwindling career, signed with Orlando City last offseason.
Unfortunately for St Ledger, neither his season nor his dating life are producing headlines worth their weight in salt.
A photo of Swift and St Ledger together at a New Year’s Eve event surfaced and, four months later, shockingly went viral.

After a few news agencies took to reporting and speculating on the story, St Ledger put the rumors to sleep.
