Carmelo Anthony Joins Protester March In Hometown Of Baltimore (Video)

Carmelo Anthony has been outspoken about the violence and unrest that recently has overtaken Baltimore. On Thursday, he decided to take action.

The New York Knicks star, who was born in New York but moved to Baltimore before he was 10 years old, was spotted participating in a three-mile “peaceful march” to City Hall in response to the death of 25-year-old Freddie Gray.

Anthony wore a gray Cassius Clay hoodie, an homage to the former name of boxing great Muhammad Ali.

Earlier this week, Anthony posted an impassioned message to Instagram urging Baltimore to be peaceful after Gray’s funeral prompted violent riots throughout the city Monday. He struck a similar tone at Thursday’s march.

“I understand where everyone’s coming from,” Anthony said in an interview with CNN. “Our community is fed up. They are fed up right now, but there are different ways you can go about it. I’m here to lead that kind of toward the right path. This is a peaceful march.”
