Say what you want about Peyton Manning, but the man has quite the impressive on-screen résumé.
The Denver Broncos quarterback, star of more commercials than you can count, had the prestigious honor of sending off legendary late-night host David Letterman in Wednesday’s final airing of the “Late Show.”
Joining A-list celebrities like Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Carrey and Steve Martin, Manning paid homage to Letterman in the only way he knows how: with a corny joke.

Nice, Peyton.
Manning’s cameo was the last of five appearances on Letterman’s show, his first coming as a sprightly young quarterback from Tennessee in 1997. The two have had their share of memorable moments since then, most recently last year when Letterman slipped in a dig at New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick.
Yet Letterman finally has decided to hang them up after nearly four decades on the air. No word on whether Manning is ready to hang up his as well.
