Terry Francona Was Mistaken For Kevin Love Fan In His Own Apartment Building

Kevin Love has been in Cleveland for less than a year, but apparently, he’s already more recognizable than Terry Francona.

The Cleveland Indians manager, who joined the team ahead of the 2013 season, went to the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Eastern Conference final game against the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday and had a great story about Love for the Akron Beacon Journal. Francona revealed that the Cavs power forward lives on the same floor in his apartment building, and he had a run-in with Love’s security when he tried to go home.

“I’m trying to get into the darn elevator, I’m tired,” Francona told the Beacon Journal. “Some security guy grabbed me. He said, ‘Sir, sorry, you can’t use this elevator.’ I was like, ‘Hey man, I’m going to my room. I don’t want his (expletive) autograph.’ Kevin Love said, ‘Hey man, he’s OK.’ So we’re talking, we’re going up, I said, ‘Hey how come you’re not giving me any security? (Love’s) not doing nothing.’”

It looks as though the security in Francona’s building could be receiving a strongly-worded note soon.
