Meghan Klingenberg Saves Team USA With Amazing Goal-Line Header (Video)

Meghan Klingenberg played the hero for the U.S. women’s national team Friday night in Winnipeg.

Team USA and Sweden were locked in a scoreless tie in their group-stage match at the Women’s World Cup when Caroline Seger sent a strike toward the U.S. net. The shot beat keeper Hope Solo, but it couldn’t get past Klingenberg, who headed the ball off the crossbar and out of harm’s way.

Even more impressive: At 5-foot-2, Klingenberg is the shortest player on the U.S. roster.

The match ended in a 0-0 draw, bringing the USWNT’s World Cup record to 1-0-1. It closes out its group-stage slate Tuesday against Nigeria.
