Patriots Sign Three Rookie Free Agents, Release Three, Including Zach D’Orazio

FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots were busy shaking up their roster Thursday afternoon, signing three rookie free agents and releasing three players.

The Patriots signed former Bowling Green linebacker D.J. Lynch, former Kansas tight end Jimmay Mundine and former LSU tight end Logan Stokes. They released quarterback Garrett Gilbert, tight end Tim Wright and wide receiver Zach D’Orazio. Gilbert took part in Patriots organized team activities Thursday, while Wright and D’Orazio were absent.

The Patriots also reportedly agreed to terms with veteran quarterback Matt Flynn, which would fill their 90-man roster.

The Patriots gave Stephen Gostkowski a rest Thursday and brought in a second kicker. Since the kicker didn’t sign, it’s possible he was in for a workout.
