John Daly and Miguel Angel Jimenez are in a group together for the first and second rounds of the British Open, and it could not be a more perfect fit. The two are stealing the show early on with their workout routines, cigars, colorful attire and solid play.
The two teed off with Jason Dufner at 7:50 a.m. ET Thursday at St. Andrews, but they both made plenty of noise before the starts of their rounds.
During an interview with BBC, Daly gave this classic response to a question about the fitness levels of his contemporaries: “All these kids work out. I don’t work out. I put out.”
It turns out some of the old pros work out, however. Before the start of his round, Jimenez worked out with a resistance band, getting ready for the big day ahead.

But it wouldn’t be a day at the course without a cigar nearby for the 51-year-old golfer. He may not bring one along with him for the rounds, but he had one by his side for warmups. And like the cigar expert that he is, Jimenez came prepared with a special holder.

It turns out the two can still golf, too. Daly, who won the 1995 British Open, shot a 1-under 71. Jimenez is not having a great all-around performance, finishing 3-over, but he did manage to eagle the par-5 fifth hole. Afterwards, he celebrated as only Jimenez can.

But, let’s be real. Everyone came to see what Daly would wear, and he certainly didn’t disappoint with these epic pants:
