Julian Edelman isn’t new to the art of slinging the pigskin — he was a quarterback in college — and the 29-year-old relived his glory days Tuesday at a Massachusetts General Hospital event.
U.S. News and World Report named Mass General the top hospital in America, and the New England Patriots wide receiver made a surprise guest appearance at Tuesday’s award ceremony.
After being announced, Edelman stood up and tossed a sneaky spiral to Dr. Peter Slavin on stage.

Nice hands, Doc. It definitely would have been nice to see some sort of touchdown celebration, though.
Edelman seemed fairly pleased with his efforts, too.

If Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s four-game Deflategate suspension isn’t revoked, maybe the team should give Edelman a look. Not even Brady has thrown a perfect spiral to a doctor on a podium.
Like Brady, Edelman is a heck of a guy, too. He took some time Tuesday to visit with patients.
