The face of the Dallas Cowboys’ franchise literally was dealt quite the blow Tuesday.
That’d be All-Pro wide receiver Dez Bryant, who already was involved in a scuffle earlier in training camp. During Tuesday’s joint practice with the St. Louis Rams, though, things escalated to a whole different level when a violent brawl broke out at the Cowboys’ facility in Oxnard, Calif.

The joint workout was stopped after the melee, but a video soon surfaced of Bryant being punched in the face by Rams linebacker Zach Leskey.

Fortunately for Dallas, Bryant didn’t suffer the same fate as New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith and appeared to be OK. Bryant did, however, lose his diamond earring in the scuffle, although a security guard somehow found it and returned to him after practice.

This is the second major NFL camp brawl we’ve seen in the last two weeks, as the Houston Texans and Washington Redskins got into it earlier this month. The New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints will take the field together for the first of two joint practices Wednesday.
