Sam, who was drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the seventh round of the 2014 NFL Draft, joined the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes this season after failing to latch on with an NFL team. He left Alouettes training camp in June and sat out the team’s first five games before returning to make his pro football debut last Friday against the Ottawa Redblacks.
