Patriots Practice Attendance: James White, Trey Flowers Newly Absent

FOXBORO, Mass. — Running back James White was healthy enough to finish Thursday night’s preseason opener, but he missed the New England Patriots’ ensuing practice.

White took a shot above the knee before the first half of New England’s 22-11 loss to the Green Bay Packers ended but returned for the start of the third quarter.

Cornerbacks Logan Ryan and Darryl Roberts; linebacker Dekoda Watson and defensive ends Rufus Johnson and Trey Flowers also were newly absent from practice. Wide receiver Brandon LaFell; running back Travaris Cadet; linebacker Dane Fletcher; offensive linemen Ryan Wendell and Caylin Hauptmann; defensive linemen Joe Vellano and Chris Jones and tight end Jake Bequette remained out of practice and didn’t play Thursday night.

Roberts injured his hand or wrist in the first quarter Thursday night, while Flowers suffered what appeared to be a shoulder injury and Johnson hurt his lower leg.

Offensive linemen Nate Solder, Marcus Cannon and Bryan Stork wore uniforms but weren’t wearing shells like the rest of the team. Cornerback Tarell Brown left practice early with trainers.

Running back Dion Lewis, linebacker Eric Martin and tight end Scott Chandler were back in pads. Martin, Cannon, Solder, Chandler, Stork and wide receiver Aaron Dobson worked on the lower practice field while the rest of the team practiced. Wide receiver Julian Edelman was a limited participant.
