This probably will come as a huge surprise, but it turns out the Tom Brady-Gisele Bundchen divorce rumors might not be true.
Earlier in August, OK! Magazine reported that the New England Patriots quarterback’s marriage to Bundchen was on the rocks and had been “strained for a long time,” according to a source. But People’s sources say otherwise.
Rumors were fueled by the fact that Brady and the Brazilian supermodel spent their birthdays apart, and Bundchen wasn’t at the Patriots’ preseason game at Gillette Stadium on Aug. 14. A source close to Brady told People there have been arguments and “a lot of stresses in their marriage in the last year.”
But a source close to Bundchen said that doesn’t mean their marriage is failing.
“This summer was just a bit different,” the source told People. “Gisele had a lot going on, so they weren’t always in the same place at the same time.”
Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones’ girlfriend Cherynne Montanero confirmed those sentiments.
“They have a good relationship,” Montanero told People. “They seem to have found the balance of having a family and then having a career.”
Another source told People that the Deflategate saga has put more stress on the couple, but it’s nothing that’s going to break them apart.
“She’s being a supportive wife, just like anybody whose husband would be going through something like this,” the source said. “They’re surprisingly pretty simple people and very down to earth. Family is first on all fronts.”
