Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi was forced to leave Saturday’s La Liga game versus Las Palmas with an apparent knee injury.
The Argentinian exited in the ninth minute after trying to play through the ailment following a blocked shot a few minutes prior.

It’s a major cause for concern for fans, as Messi arguably is the greatest player in the world and doesn’t leave games very often.

Messi reportedly was taken to the local hospital for further examination, according to Spanish website Sport.
UPDATE (12:45 p.m. ET): Barcelona confirms the bad news. Messi faces around two months on the sidelines.
