The Boston Bruins just can’t catch a break.
After an 0-3 start to the season and a flurry of injuries, the team will be without the services of defenseman Joe Morrow on its upcoming road trip. General manager Don Sweeney announced Tuesday that Morrow had been placed on injured reserve. The team recalled Tommy Cross from the Providence Bruins.
Cross’ first shift will mark his NHL debut.
Morrow did not practice Tuesday morning due to the flu, and coach Claude Julien told reporters at the time that he was unsure whether the team would carry a seventh defenseman.
