Frank Thomas’ heart was in the right place. His execution, on the other hand, was not so great.
The Baseball Hall of Famer did a nice job as an analyst in the playoffs for FOX, but he did say something hilariously head-scratching Sunday night. Thomas attempted to cheer up the New York Mets and their fans after the Mets lost the World Series to the Kansas City Royals in five games.
He really didn’t do a very good job.

We get what The Big Hurt is saying. The Mets were in every game of the Fall Classic, even holding late leads in three games. In the end, though, the bullpen and defense faltered, once again leaving Mets fans to wonder “What if?” for an entire postseason.
