Report: Bryan Stork Missed Patriots Game While Grieving Loss Of Close Family Member

FOXBORO, Mass. — Rob Gronkowski had a special day Sunday, dedicating the New England Patriots’ win over the Tennessee Titans at Gillette Stadium to a close family friend who recently died.

According to a report, Gronkowski wasn’t the only Patriots player dealing with a loss.

New England center Bryan Stork was inactive for Sunday’s game because he was “grieving after the loss of a close family member,” ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported shortly after the Patriots’ 33-16 win.

Stork, like Gronkowski, missed the Patriots’ practice Friday for non-injury related reasons. The 25-year-old center was declared inactive for Patriots-Titans and was seen leaving the stadium Sunday morning.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick said after the game Stork sitting out was a “coaching decision.” Rookie David Andrews started in Stork’s place.
