Report: Dolphins Request Interviews With Josh McDaniels, Matt Patricia

The Miami Dolphins might be trying to snag a coach from a division rival.

The Dolphins reportedly requested interviews with New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, defensive coordinator Matt Patricia and Buffalo Bills assistant head coach Anthony Lynn for their vacant head coaching position, ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted Monday.

McDaniels’ name pops up nearly every season as a head coach candidate despite the fact that his two seasons at the helm of the Denver Broncos in 2009 and 2010 weren’t very successful. This would be Patricia’s first head coaching interview if granted.

The Dolphins reportedly already interviewed two-time Super Bowl-winning coach Mike Shanahan twice for the position, too.

It remains to be seen whether the Dolphins will get their requested interviews with McDaniels and Patricia, though, as the Patriots are getting ready for the divisional playoffs on Saturday, Jan. 16.
