The Pittsburgh Steelers’ chances of winning Sunday just took a huge blow, and Adam “Pacman” Jones might have to start getting an apology ready.
The Steelers officially ruled out wide receiver Antonio Brown for Sunday’s AFC Divisional Playoff game against the Denver Broncos. Brown suffered a concussion late in the Steelers’ win over the Cincinnati Bengals in the wild-card round.
That’s where Jones comes in. The Bengals cornerback on multiple occasions in the last week accused Brown of faking the injury, saying Brown should win an Academy Award (and a Grammy) for his acting abilities. Of course, holding out arguably the NFL’s best wide receiver is pretty good proof Brown wasn’t faking the injury.
Losing Brown could be a death blow for Pittsburgh. Already tasked with facing one of the NFL’s toughest defenses on the road, the Steelers will attempt to make up for the production they’ll lose without Brown in the fold. Brown had nine 100-yard games this season and is coming off a seven-catch, 119-yard performance last week against Cincinnati.
In addition to missing Brown, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger isn’t expected to be at 100 percent for Sunday’s game. He suffered an AC joint sprain and ligament damage in his right shoulder against Cincinnati. Additionally, DeAngelo Williams isn’t expected to play as he deals with a foot injury.
