Jim Kelly Says Bills Need More Discipline, Jokes Tom Brady Should Retire

SAN FRANCISCO — The Super Bowl is a family affair for Jim Kelly. The Hall of Fame quarterback has his five brothers, his wife and his two daughters with him at this year’s game, and he stopped by Radio Row on Friday to chat about his beloved Buffalo Bills, with whom he played in four Super Bowls.

Kelly told NESN.com’s Michaela Vernava that he likes what he has seen from Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor so far. He also had an interesting take on what it will take for the Bills to topple the New England Patriots in the AFC East.

“Well, No. 1 is I think it’s time for Tom Brady to retire. That’d be a really good thing,” Kelly said, with a laugh. “But, you know, Rex (Ryan, the Bills’ coach) got them all ready to play — we just had so many injuries last year, and when we did players back, it was always something happen here. We didn’t have a lot of discipline, I should say. … So we have to have a leader in that locker room that when things start to get away, someone needs to step up and be that person that someone’s going to listen to.”
