SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Kony Ealy is hard to miss at 6-foot-4 and 275 pounds, but Peyton Manning didn’t see him on a second-quarter pass, much to the Carolina Panthers’ delight Sunday at Super Bowl 50.
The Denver Broncos were marching downfield after recovering a Mike Tolbert fumble and appeared poised to take a two-score lead in the game at Levi’s Stadium. But Manning’s third-down pass to Emmanuel Sanders from the Panthers’ 24-yard line found Ealy’s big right paw instead, and the result was a momentum-stopping interception by the Carolina defensive end.

The Panthers didn’t score on the enusing drive, but they kept the score 13-7 winding down toward halftime.
