Jerod Mayo made quite the impact during his eight seasons with the New England Patriots. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that many of his now former teammates are honoring the linebacker after his sudden retirement announcement.
Mayo, who has battled multiple significant injuries over the past three seasons, retired Tuesday at 29 years old. And it didn’t take very long for the well wishes to pour in from Julian Edelman, Chandler Jones, Devin McCourty and Sealver Siliga.

It’s safe to say No. 51 will be missed in the Patriots’ locker room.
