Hockey hair was everywhere Wednesday afternoon at the Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel — and most of it ended up on the floor.
More than two dozen Boston Bruins players participated in the ninth annual “Cuts for a Cause” event, during which fans had the opportunity to shave the head of their favorite Bruin after bidding for the right to do so.
All told, the event raised $100,000 for the Boston Bruins Foundation and the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center.

Among the Bruins players who parted ways with their locks were B’s newcomers Seth Griffith and Austin Czarnik, who were called up to the big club from Providence mere hours before the event.

The event also featured a few special guests, including the family of Boston Marathon bombing victim Martin Richard.
