The Michigan-Ohio State rivalry never rests, especially in the Twitter age.
Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith fanned the flames of the never-ending fire between the two Big 10 schools Tuesday with a slight dig at the Michigan football program.
Commenting on Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh’s decision to take his team to Florida for spring practices, Smith told reporters “If we were jump-starting our program, I’d probably try to do that, too.”
That was only the beginning.
It didn’t take long for Harbaugh to catch wind of those comments. The head coach fired back on Twitter, bringing out the big guns and referring to the Ohio State tattoo scandal from 2011.
Good to see Director Smith being relevant again after the tattoo fiasco. Welcome back!

And now the gloves are off. That’s when Ezekiel Elliott’s music hit, and the former Ohio State star made a Twitter run-in, joining the fray by coming off the top rope to attack Harbaugh.

Elliott and the Buckeyes, of course, went into the Big House and throttled the Wolverines 42-13 last November, Harbaugh’s first Ohio State-Michigan game since returning to Ann Arbor as head coach.
Oh, and Elliott’s Twitter header photo is him celebrating at Michigan, and his Twitter avatar features him, you guessed it, celebrating at the Big House.
He also fired off this tweet for good measure.

Wide receiver Mike Thomas also got involved.

By the way, Michigan and Ohio State meet Nov. 26 in Columbus.
